~ SYC Benefits ~
The obvious benefit of SYC is
that it reaches others for Jesus Christ by giving them an opportunity to hear
the gospel. Secondly, it builds confidence in these youth during the years that
they need it most. It takes them from the "I cant" syndrome to the "I did and
I will again" mindset. And third, it encourages them and their families to enjoy
the outdoors and involves more people in managing our renewable resources.
Most of the benefits to the volunteers are intangible. You cannot measure the
thrill of seeing someone accept Jesus Christ, just as you cannot measure a
smile, a hug, a feeling of accomplishment, or the satisfaction of helping
someone overcome an obstacle to reach a lifetime dream experience.
