Special Youth Challenge Ministries, Inc.
is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), national volunteer ministry to reach people for Jesus Christ through Christian lifestyle witnessing by teaching physically challenged youth ages 13
- 19 how to overcome some of the obstacles of shooting and hunting through special training and events.
|
Our Vision...
To empower physically challenged youth to enjoy hunting and the shooting sports and diminish a portion of their disability by teaching them to overcome barriers of the outdoors through the use of special methods, equipment or assistance from volunteers who desire to share their passion for shooting and hunting.
 |
 |
SYC Events...
Those who wish to share their blessings with others are the first step of an SYC event. The location of the host determines where the event will be held and who will participate. All of the youth chosen for a hunt or shooting event are chosen from the state where the event location is held. Landowners, corporations, companies and churches supply all of the necessities of the hunt from a place to meet to a place to sleep. Food, transportation expenses, taxidermy, photography and entertainment is provided through donations and contributions from those who believe that these youth are only "handicapped" if we dont take the time to show them how to enjoy Gods great outdoors.

~ SYC Benefits ~
The obvious benefit of SYC is that it reaches others for Jesus Christ by giving them an opportunity to hear the gospel. Secondly, it builds confidence in these youth during the years that they need it most. It takes them from the "I cant" syndrome to the "I did and I will again" mindset. And third, it encourages them and their families to enjoy the outdoors and involves more people in managing our renewable resources.
Most of the benefits to the volunteers are intangible. You cannot measure the thrill of seeing someone accept Jesus Christ, just as you cannot measure a smile, a hug, a feeling of accomplishment, or the satisfaction of helping someone
overcome an obstacle to reach a lifetime dream experience.
